GET TO KNOW ME...
I'm McKenna, and from Pittsburgh, PA. I've been drawn to the arts from a young age, whether it be singing in choirs, doing jazz hands in junior productions, or writing & filming silly home videos with my dad. I've trained in theatre, singing, and acting over the past 10+ years at some of the top performing arts schools and academies in the country! Fast forward to present day, I plan to continue acting in tv/film, onstage, and behind a mic (& hopefully even write some of it in the meantime). I'm super passionate about what I do, and I hope it can make a difference, even if it's simply putting a smile on someone's face or tugging on their heartstrings! <3
TIMELINE
THE BEGINNING
2014-2016
After trying my hand at multiple hobbies, instruments, and even training with a youth choir in Pittsburgh for two years, I finally landed on theatre one Summer - I decided to give it a shot at a musical theatre academy in Pittsburgh (they did Wizard of Oz, and I played Tree #2 - how classic). I quickly fell in love with it, even as I threw apples at poor Dorothy.
HIGH SCHOOL
2016-2020
After training in theatre for a few years, I enrolled into Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, kickstarting another chapter of my life in regards to stage performance. I went there for all four years of high school, performed in 9+ productions in their union-level theater, and graduated in 2020 with multiple honors in the arts, including being a member of both the International Thespian Society and the National Honor Society of Dance Arts.
COLLEGE - PRESENT
2020-2024
Throughout my years working towards my BFA in Musical Theatre at The Boston Conservatory, I took various classes in acting, voice and speech, and dance. Among these courses, my favorite class quickly became film acting---discovering this drove me to audition for and be cast in multiple off-campus student films, furthering my passion for acting on camera!
